Dr. Harold John D. Culala is an Associate Professor and Dean of the Institute of Education and the former Director of the Office of Education Technology of Far Eastern University. He holds a PhD in Curriculum from Taylor’s University in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, a Master’s Degree in Education major in Curriculum and Instruction and Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics both from FEU. He has received a number of citations and to name a few, in 2014 he was awarded the “Award for Outstanding Contribution in Education” given by World Education Congress in India. Recently, he received the “Education Leadership Award” in the 7th Asia’s Education Excellence Award held in Singapore. He has published research essays on the topics of sustainability in education, curriculum, and technology in education. Not just only an educator, he has also actively participating in different environmental activities, in which in 2006 he was awarded as one of the TEN Bayer Young Environmental Envoys of the Philippines. For his 15 years of higher education experience, he has been invited as keynote speaker, lead panel, special lecturer, workshop leader, in different academic conferences and trainings in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Australia, and the Philippines. His research interests include history of curriculum reforms, sociology in education, and curriculum theories. His professional life evolves in going to different places as experienced resource speaker for workshops and trainings in mathematics education, curriculum and instruction topics, teacher capability building, and strategies in teaching using technology.
